other fabrics

so, for the people, I want to do silhouettes. But I want them to stand out from the background without it being in a bold way.
So, I am going to overlay rust-dyed muslin with black muslin. (Muslin in the British sense of the term.)

I have fused the two together with Black Misty Fuse.

I have been working on the people...I start with a small outline then enlarge on my printer til I get what I want. Not too scientific! I need to trace them onto Freezer paper now. Then I will cut them out of the fused fabrics. The muslin is too loosely woven to be able to draw round the shapes directly on the fabric.
