at work

making progress in the one 'clear' space

Also happening here and about:

A Certain Young Man (no longer a Lad) home for Mothering Sunday. He made a lovely pork roast. And a Fine Man made a 'not fruitcake' simnel cake. Michael Barry recipe. Yumm

A very sick Dog :-(

A Mother in hospital for emergency op far far away. I guess since I can't do anything for her that my sis and the hospital can't do, the dog is actually being the bigger concern.

and hiding away in my room listening to Lord Peter Wimsey stories to stop the worry.

Cherries

another finishing -
the Journal Quilts with the Contemporary Quilt group this year require red for the 1st four months, yellow for the second four months, and blue for the last for months. You can use up to 25% percent of another colour.

So, here is my first one.

I have had it nearly finished for sometime, but was not happy about the distortion. I used too thin wadding.
at the end of all these being submitted, I think I will mount it onto a larger piece which will straighten it out.

I am going to try a couple other ideas and mix with depicting various fruits.

finished hems

At last these two skirts are complete. the red herringbone has been hanging on the cupboard for ages.

I started the embroidered linen skirt at the last TV Offcuts meeting, but it has been cut out for ages.

So, progress has been made. and they are lovely to wear.

2 weeks!

Oh dear, how time flies.

This past week has been a bit of migraine and filling forms week and the week before was full of meetings. So, you haven't missed much!

Photos from last Saturday TVOffcuts meeting are still in the camera at present.

By the way...the pj's in the last post? about 2 weeks later I was informed I had put the buttons on the wrong side. oh This is after they had been through the worn and washed cycle at least twice.
But he also said it was good practice for using his left hand. hmm

++++++++++++++++++
On the good news front.

I got an interesting email asking if I could send work to the Quilt Expo en Beaujolais because an artist pulled out.
Well,yes!
So, emailing back and forth through an interpreter has resulted in them wanting 12 pieces out of 13 images I sent! And possibly a chance to show my wearable art next year!

How cool is that? It is often a long tentative journey to try to get a solo gallery in a quilt show. But here it has been offered out of the blue ... and from another country even! pity it is too close to try to come up make arrangements to go there.

If you are going, let me know!
