Big Art Picnic

During Reading Arts Week I also demonstrated the Machine Embroidery at Caversham Court for the Big Art Picnic. I really enjoy demoing there. It is lovely by the River Thames.

I did catch a few photos of the mini fashion show. The work was mostly from students from some of the other fashion courses. We really put the chap from the local newspaper through his paces!

This student was in the design classes I taught a few years ago. She chose Mondrian for her design research project. You can see how she used the strong lines for this dress she wore to her daughter's wedding.

and then the colour blocking for this reversable cape.

One of the ladies does a lot of corset bustle skirt combinations. We borrowed visitors from around the picnic to model.

Here is the designer with some of the models.

and here was one of the many entertainment groups that performed during the day - Amy's Ghost. I really liked the style of the main singer. She even had interesting face make-up to go with her 'persona'.
