Adding texture to the bark of the willow dress.
I am couching a dark grey fabric to the surface using a variegated thread.
Getting ready for setting up my exhibition at the end of next week.

new lady
My friend Gabrielle loaned/gave me her display dummy for my exhibition. I stopped at her house to collect the new lady today.
Then we went on to Fabricland where I got some basics like, clear small poppers, muslin and lightweight fusible interfacing.
Thanks! It was good to go with someone to a fabric shop for a change. And the new lady will be very useful for some of my thinner garments. I need to give her a name (or find out if she had one!) The dummy I use for my shape is 'Ma dame' and the one I use for fashion show shapes is 'Mademoiselle'.
Maybe 'Ma sœur'?, or 'Mon amie'?

Zoomorphic
I needed to send a sample of the Build a Fabric technique to Lady Sew and Sew to have on display in the shop.
The only one I had I could send, I can't find. So, maybe it didn't get back from the Needlework Archive?
Well, that one was made from the outer trimmings of the Collared Dragon. I still have trimmings left, so I had a look.
I like finding animals/people in clouds and other random shapes. And I often find I can go from a trimming to make something - even clothes. In these trimmings I could see animal-like shapes. So, I started cutting them out.
Okay. I just need one sample, but already I can see I can do a series. And the word zoomorphic kept running through my head.
So, I settled on this one.
And so far have got the bird and the "pelephant"* stitched down. Now to sandwich and quilt it and send it off.
*pelephant = pointy nose elephant

Cow 6
My dad is very good at whittling. I have some of the chains he has made from one piece of wood, and balls within a rectangle cage.
I have had this cow that he made since I went to college.
Very lovely and quite correct in stance. I like the grain lines in the wood.
She looks very like the cow we had called Lady, who was a Jersey cow. Fairly low slung.
The first one I learned to milk and spent much time parked under! By hand of course!

Something different
I have been having issues with the computer just stopping where it is and then the Thoughtful Man spends a few hours with a new attempt to coax it to carry on. So, a quick post while it is working.
I made this for the Thoughtful Man for Valentine's Day. (He is my Knight). He plays piano and a few other instruments.
So, "Music for a Knight".
And an interesting view with the light coming across showing the dimensions of the quilting.
As you can see, I thought I would try the technique I use for the Ramshackle Houses to see how they would work for a different outline. Still trying to give a sketch look, I often draw this knight shape, without the music, in cards for him. So, in this fabric is blends in some, but I think it works.
