Ramshackle- a fresh one

I wanted to take part in the SAQA Spotlight auction which will take place at their conference in Toronto. But after the cough was gone, last week my back was so painful I couldn’t do anything much, especially machine sewing.
Finally yesterday I was able to ignore the pain enough to get a new Ramshackle piece done.

Ramshackle: Big House Small Tree

The size is 6”x8”, but they will be framed in a mount with an aperture 4.5”x6.5”. So I have laid paper strips around the sides to see what it will look like.

So, today I managed the post office, though I drove. And the piece is winging its way to the collection point!

When I was checking through the requirements, I came across a photo from a previous year, used as an example of how they will be displayed for the auction.

And there in the middle is one of mine! Ramshackle Hilltop from 2016.

finish

Finished the dark red dress I started before Festival of Quilts.
Somehow I just fell for the red sunflowers, if that is what they are.
Yes, I use the selvage on the back seam.
I hope I can wear it Sunday, even if it is with a cardigan. Just needs a press.

I had ideas of  other simple summer dresses, but today I am wrapped in my fleece because the temp has really dropped and it is raining.
So, I best get onto the Lacey blue one. It is lined and about the time I cut it out, the weather got Very Hot. I couldn't face the idea of wearing it. So, now is the time if I don't want to lose track of the idea by next summer. I think (hope) we might have a few somewhat warm days left, so, that should motivate me. I need to move it to get onto some big projects I need to start.
