Something on Saturday

Treasure 55
Another special cuddly toy.

I made a huge bird costume for a commission one time. My friend Niki modelled it for photos. Our friend Mike did the photos. Even my husband keeps photos of it on his phone! So it was great fun for many of my friends. When one of them saw this toy, they bought it as it reminds us about the costume. I can’t remember who gave it to me, maybe my friend Pat, Niki’s mum.

Something on Saturday (or not)

Okay. So this wasn’t actually posted on Saturday. I was finishing off another project with a deadline.

Treasure 54

A vase given to me from my son.
It holds my collection of peacock feathers.

Something on Saturday

Treasure 53

Another glass dish
I was going to stop at 52, a ‘year’ discounting the weeks I missed out, but I can’t think of anything else clever at the moment. So, I will carry on to 100. I still have treasures here and there which aren’t also cows. 😁

Something on Saturday

Treasure 51

My friend Pat is a wonderful knitter. Some years ago, she was making everyone a ‘jelly baby’. This is mine.
Isn’t he cute?

Treasure 50

A new Treasure. It is just right.
Oh, and the kettle is new. NOT a treasure! The old one died on Sunday morning...that afternoon we had a knock on the door, delivery of a new one. Looks swish, but apparently it was cheap and Sunday delivery.

Something on Saturday

Treasure 48

This isn’t a magical basket of flowers. Just pretend ones.
But they are special because my son gave it to me on one Mother’s Day.

I love this little baby fox. I bought it sometime ago. Way before foxes were ‘in’ on the design scene.

Something on Saturday

Treasure 42
This would have been the last of the year, but there were a few weeks this year I didn’t do these Saturday posts. So, We have a few more weeks of treasures to look at.

I have several lovely glass paperweights.
This is the first one. I was given it by my friend Joanne, who let me live with her and the girls when I was in Bible College.

A good one for this time of the year.

Something on Saturday

Treasure 41
I love chimes. This chime belonged to my Mother in law.
I was given it when she died.
At the moment it is against the wall in the kitchen.
It has a beautiful sound.

********************************

Apologies for the state of the wall. For some bright reason, the people who lived here before us artexed as many bits of wall they could reach.
The bumps collect dust and you don’t realise. I am not good at the dusting thing. It is hard enough to remember to dust the treasures, let alone the wall!

Something (meant to be) on Saturday

I have had a head cold and Saturday got lost in falling asleep.
So, anyway.

Treasure 40

A decorative warming pan given to me by my mother in law. I don’t know if there is a story behind it.

Something on Saturday

Treasure 39

This treasure is actually my husband’s. It belonged to his dad. One of those Loch Ness souvenirs, given him because he was Scottish. This one held whiskey.

I  know if it was brighter when new. I know it was displayed in a windowsill for years by my Mother In Law.

Treasure 37

This is a rather tatty trinket meant to be a fridge magnet. But it’s ok for my little collection.
