Here is what they look like now.
And next to them, the holly bushes.
I was delighted with the little flowers!
There should be plenty of berries, if the birds let them go red.
I like noticing Architecture and Design
I don't go into town very often, but a few weeks ago I did when I went for an eye exam. I noticed some of the improvements to that part of town which helps it to blend in a bit with the new regenerated town centre.
Looking up near Specsavers. They are quite high, so I don't think many people see the circles.
Along the ceiling on the lower part.
I like the way it meanders, even to the point of having very small light tubes matched with large ones to keep the look.
Looking along the street from the sky walk. I like the repetition of the banner/signs on the building contrasted with the repetition of the trees down the grass verge.
oops! forgot the photo!
And looking down to the landscaping, I spotted a plant which we have next to the front door.
Mahonia
Ours has been growing very slowly, but this is a good example of what size it could get to! We will have to keep it in hand.
Hi Sandy! Oh that holy bush is just fabulous! It looks so healthy to me, and I love the shape of the leaves. Plus your violas came in so nice! They will fill in really soon and you'll never know it is there first year there. Those one lights remind me of Mickey Mouse - too much time with Dominic watching the MM Clubhouse I guess. I see him and sing the darn song even when I'm not with him! HAHA! ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteHi Sandy, I love noticing patterns and repetitions in architectural features as well.
ReplyDeleteLove your holly bush and the birds won't be put off by the thorns...is that right?
I'm a violet lover and violas are the sweetest.
yes I like architecture and details a lot. Isn't it fun to find someone to share likes with! The circles... I've had a love of them for years and those are really cool. The ceiling is like a modern quilt... I could see it in my minds eye. Flowers coming to life, I look forward to trying out flowers in a new yard.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are so pretty! And I've never seen (noticed) the flowers on holly. They're so delicate looking compared to the strong bold feel of the leaves and berries.
ReplyDeleteI had holly where I grew up, but don't see it often around here. I love the architectural things you shared.
ReplyDeleteI like those ceilings, too! I enjoyed all the interesting shapes you shared today!
ReplyDeleteHolly is such a pretty plant. Love those ceilings and lines.
ReplyDeleteI don't normally notice those types of architectural details. These days, I am focused on decorating - always looking for ideas I can use in my house! Enjoy your weekend!
